The New Year's party for the "九州男児女児会 (Kyushu Danji-Joji Festival)" (also widely known as the "Kyushu-kai") is officially set to take place at MOSS CROSS TOKYO shibuya on Friday, January 31!
What is the Kyushu Danji-Joji Festival?
Originating from CROSS TOKYO, this unique culinary festival welcomes not only natives of Kyushu but anyone with a meaningful connection to the region. Whether you consider Kyushu your second home, have family roots there, or conduct business in the area—as long as you share a bond with Kyushu, you are invited to join.
The event gathers individuals active in Tokyo who share deep connections to Kagoshima, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Nagasaki, Saga, Fukuoka, and Okinawa. It serves as a vibrant platform to exchange regional love and passion, allowing guests to recharge their energy for the days ahead. While numerous prefectural associations and networking events exist, this festival was created with the vision of uniting these diverse networks to generate a completely new, even more powerful collective energy.
Our Story So Far
Since the inaugural event in 2013, the festival has steadily grown through engaging entertainment and unique regional collaborations, continuously expanding its circle of connection. Past venues include Roppongi and Akasaka, along with a special outdoor summer edition in Odaiba back in 2016. Last September, marking a long-awaited return after approximately 5 years, the 17th festival was successfully celebrated in Shibuya.
The 18th Edition Features…
The theme for this 18th edition is "Kyushu New Year's Party 2025." French culinary chefs will showcase a 1-night-only menu reimagining local Kyushu ingredients and traditional regional dishes. A major highlight of this evening is "Kue" (longtooth grouper), a luxurious winter fish shipped directly from Kyushu. Guests can look forward to seeing how this seasonal delicacy will be masterfully presented! An abundant selection of beverages, led by authentic Kyushu sake and spirits, will also be available. Raise a glass of fine regional sake, indulge in delicious homeland flavors, and foster the energy to conquer the new year ahead.
