Okinawa to the World -vol.2- Paris Report
Updated: 11 hours ago
We have officially launched a global project in partnership with JTB Okinawa to share the authentic value of Okinawa’s food and culture with the world.
Following the kickoff event in New York, a series of pop-up events were held in Paris, France, throughout September.
Representing our team, Director Inoue, along with “CROSS47” Chef Takara, “MOSS Okinawa” Chef Nakamura, and Sommelier Kodama, traveled to Paris for the occasion. At the Maison de la Culture du Japon à Paris, an event was held in collaboration with the Okinawa Prefectural Government and the Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau. Additionally, at the local restaurant “OKOMUSU”, we were able to serve a wide selection of dishes and drinks highlighting Okinawa's rich ingredients and spirits.
Despite the limitations of the environment, we worked closely with local partners to share Okinawa's food culture with a broad audience. At “OKOMUSU”, known for its cozy and welcoming atmosphere, we were able to interact closely across the counter and feel the warmth and positive reactions of our guests firsthand.
Bringing together many people across borders and language barriers, the venues were filled with warm smiles and a lively atmosphere as guests thoroughly enjoyed every plate crafted from Okinawa’s rich culinary heritage—creating an invaluable moment of sharing the same space and dining experience.
Building on our experience in New York, this Paris event marked another crucial step in broadening our horizons. Navigating service in environments different from Japan provided us with numerous insights and valuable takeaways.
Turning the warm words and encouraging feedback we received on-site into our driving force, we will continue sharing the charm of Okinawan cuisine and spirits with new places around the world.
