Restaurant OCTO: 1st Anniversary

In March 2025, BATON SUITE Okinawa Kouri Island opened its doors in a breathtaking location overlooking the emerald green sea and the Kouri Bridge. Now, its main dining restaurant, OCTO, is about to celebrate its 1st anniversary. Guided by our concept, "A place where body and soul take a deep breath through delicious food," we have spent this past year connecting with the island’s gentle flow of time and rich ingredients, crafting unforgettable moments for every guest.

Our unique "Mediterranean Grilled Cuisine" fuses Okinawa’s rich culinary heritage—a blend of foreign-influenced court cuisine and medicinal local dishes—with the abundant bounty of the Mediterranean. Led by our head chef, an expert in French, Chinese, and tomato-based culinary techniques, we utilize the world’s first charcoal-oven, the "Josper," to beautifully prepare selected ingredients from Okinawa and across Japan. Each dish is served with an appetizing, elegant grilled aroma.

For lunch, enjoy a casual, sun-lit lunch set while feeling the island's natural radiance. For dinner, we offer Mediterranean grilled dishes centered around an à la carte menu. Experience OCTO's exclusive masterpieces, crafted precisely for a relaxing stay at an Okinawan resort.

The restaurant's name, derived from the Latin word for "Eight" (OCTO), carries our wishes for eternity and happiness. With the desire to share long-lasting, delicious moments in every single dish, we take our next steps into our second year as a place that stays in your memories. Located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of the Okinawan main island, "Kouri Island" is famous for the stunning emerald green sea that spreads out on both sides as you cross the 1,960-meter Kouri Bridge. After crossing the bridge and heading up to the island's highlands, you will find BATON SUITE Kouri Island.

Our resort began its journey in March 2025 with the desire to pass on the rich nature and culture of Kouri Island to the next generation and to our guests, like a "baton."
